ZANE President Welcomes Former Zambian President Rupiah Banda To New England

ZANE President Mr. Kwanga Kaweza officially welcomed former Zambian President H.E Rupiah Banda to New England on Tuesday April 3rd, 2012 as President Banda acts as the African Presidential Center’s new President-in-Residence at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts.

President Banda is in Massachusetts for three months and in his Inaugural Lecture as the Eighth President-in-Residence that Monday, April 2nd, 2012 made a strong case for democracy; by telling the packed audience that the only way democracy can flourish, is for a new generation of leaders to rise and solve the next generation of problems.

President Banda was overjoyed to learn from Mr. Kaweza that there is a significant population of Zambians in New England, who are all about the empowerment of one another and their fellow countrymen back home. On behalf of the ZANE community, Mr. Kaweza wished President Banda well during his stay in Massachusetts.
