Empowering Zambians in the New England Area

ZANE FC Does Us Proud At The 2013 African Health Cup!

Despite being eliminated by group opponent Ghana in a nail biting penalty shoot-out [score 8-7] in the second game during the elimination round, our boys did extremely well; drawing their first game 0-0 & ending the second game in regular time with 1-1 draw against our Ghanaian rivals. Our goal was scored by soccer maestro & ZANE Co-Captain Xavier Chisanga.

Ghana went on to lose to Uganda in the cup finals in another penalty shoot-out, as they had drawn 2-2 in regular time. The penalty shoot-out score ended 4-3 in Uganda’s favor.

This is the 4th year ZANE has taken part in the African Health Cup hosted by our partner MAC-AFIA. The African Health Cup brings together African communities through the universal game of soccer with the goal of promoting and creating HIV Awareness.

11 African countries participated in this year’s tournament; Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Liberia, Cape Verde, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Ivory Coast, and Zambia.

ZANE thanks our soccer players who always give their best in representing our motherland Zambia.
