Empowering Zambians in the New England Area
Zambia National Soccer Team USA beat Taifa Stars of Tanzania 3-2 in a tight game played at MIT’s Roberts field . Zambia came from behind to score 3 goals; 2 through team captain Aaron Simutowe, a former national team player and one by fast paced George Longwe. The Zambian defence was manned by young high school international in between the goal posts, Gideon Masala, with the back 4 starring hardworking Michael Maiba, formerly of City of Lusaka and Soko on the right back, with Patrick Banda on the left back and Chisha Malunda playing central defence. The central midfield was well anchored by former national team and Zanaco FC captain Emmanuel Chibale ,Elton Kufa of City of Lusaka and Yonah Banda of Zanaco FC. Attacking midfielders were Mambo Phiri of Worcester State College, Brian Mutale of Toronto, Canada and Patrick Daka of Sacred University. Aaron Simutowe and George Longwe caused havoc in the Tanzanian defense. ZANE is thankful to all the players and supporters that came out, played and supported our first ever Zambia National Team of USA playing in a very important HIV/ AIDS Awareness game. This is the best team and ZANE is challenging any national team out there that would want to test us.
