U.S launching of the African Women’s Decade

Join the Women of the Soil in welcoming Zambia’s Ambassador to the U.S. back to Boston!

Ambassador Sheila Siwela will be speaking at the U.S launching of the African Women’s Decade on Friday, Dec. 10th at UMass Boston. As one of the esteemed guests, Amb. Siwela will be joined by Amb. Amina Salum Ali, the African Union (AU) Mission Permanent Representative to the United States.

The African Women’s Decade, a declaration of the African Union (AU), is to advocate for gender equity, women’s advancement and the respect of women’s rights within the African Diaspora.

The focus of the ‘U.S launching’ is to build solution-driven strategies in addressing gender inequities among African, African-American, Afro-Latina, and Caribbean women living in the United States.
