About the award:
The Dorothy H. Harrison Passion and Persistence Scholarship Award was created to honor the countless sacrifices that Mrs. Dorothy Harrison made to make the pursuit of higher education degrees a reality for her own children. Because of all her tireless work, her children not only had the privilege of being able to attend the universities of their choosing, but they were also afforded the luxury of not having to constantly worry about finances. As a result, her children had the opportunity to do what every deserving student should have the right to do; the right to dream big and to pursue those dreams. The right to acquire a well rounded education that opens countless career doors, but more importantly, the opportunity to learn the true value of giving to others the gift that keeps on giving.
