DEMOCRACY and LAW are interlinked .No can be democratic and fail to uphold the law and still be a democrat and virce versa. Government is appointed by God Romasn 13:1-4 etc but we have some wrong and evil characters to make laws which corrupt fellow man. as long as we do not show passion to practice what we believe in other will do but God is with us and we are named by Him.
